Faculty of International Relations and Socio-Human Sciences of USPEE “C. Stere” is among the first institutions to undertake the difficult task of promoting political science in the Republic of Moldova and preparing the future political class and diplomatic corps of the country.
At the beginning of the activity of the Institute of Political Science and International Relations, in 1997, two faculties were opened:
a) Faculty of Political Studies, with the specialty Politics and the specialization of Politics and Legal Training;
b) Faculty of International Relations, specializing in International Relations. During the same period were created the departments: Political Science and Legal Training, International Relations, Applied Foreign Languages.
Starting with the academic year 2001-2002, it is organized the admission of candidates for short-term studies at the specialties of International Relations, Politics, Political Science and Legal Training. Every year, the Faculty of International Relations has become increasingly demanded and sought by civil servants and politicians in the country.
We think it is important to mention that the collaboration and scientific research activity of the Faculty at the national and international level is managed and coordinated by the International Cooperation Department, whose specific objectives are: establishing and developing mutually beneficial cooperation relations between the Faculty of International Relations and Socio-Human Sciences and other faculties with the same field of study in the Republic of Moldova and abroad; to promote and develop cooperative relations with scientific research institutions in the fields of interest for the faculty; organization of scientific meetings, including conferences, round tables, thematic seminars, summer schools, work-shops, etc. to promote faculty policy and professional development of teachers; web site administration, including the news/news compartment; the continuous development of cooperation/cooperation relations with international foundations, associations and donors for training the teachers, faculty development, as well as in the fields of institutional development, curricular and international mobility; development of institutional and curricular development projects, design activities; elaboration of strategies in areas of interest for the faculty; guiding and supporting students studying at the Faculty of International Relations and Socio-Human Sciences.
The Department of Sciences of Education and Modern Languages started its activity with five specializations from 2011-2012 full-time education: psycho-pedagogy, primary education pedagogy, pre-school pedagogy, social assistance and second cycle of Master degree at the specialty: Educational management.
The teaching staff of the faculty intensively applies modern training methodologies as well as efficient researches of the internal and international political process. Modernizing and enhancing the quality of the teaching process in accordance with the Bologna Process standards and the labor market needs are the cornerstones of our activity.
The prestige of the faculty belongs to the teaching and scientific staff, known professionals in the field: Pantelimon Varzari, Constantin Solomon, Platon Fruntaşu, Pavel Midrigan, Nicolae Laiu, Cezar Manascurta, Victoria Gonţa, Tatiana Gribincea, Svetlana Chitu, Corina Lazar and others, Phds in science, university lecturers.
Teachers always increase their level of qualification. They have opportunities to carry out requalification internships at the most prestigious European universities. The faculty’s strategy is aimed at creating a fertile environment for teaching/learning, training and research, maintaining leadership in the country and increasing international prestige.
The faculty has real employment possibilities for its graduates, the success of the faculty obviously reflecting the success of successful graduates.
